Expanding Ideas

I am in a great position with regards learning new art skills. I was able to take part in a Canvas making workshop, held by one of the amazing technicians we have at in the art department at the University.

Although my practice is not currently needing canvas' as it is more sculpture based, the process of how to make one and them having that knowledge for future I believe invaluable. I am also trying to take as many opportunities as I can to widen my skills base from just my specific practice.

For my work to be able to grow I need allow other ideas in, by learning how to create my own canvas' I now know how beneficial it can be, as you can choose both frame material as well as the canvas as well as creating bespoke sized canvas' for specific needs.

The workshop also helped me with becoming more comfortable in the more construction sideline of art and use of tools to accomplish this.

Lest I forget that before this I would not have appreciated the quality of a canvas as I do now, nor would I have realized over time the handmade canvas' end up being cheaper and who doesn't love value for money.
